Good day,.. new guy here...

Need to do some top side repair and paint and hope to find a similar color to the body of my boat. Wondering if anyone else has found a good match.. brand and color code..

I have topside corrosion around the stupid stainless steel topside snaps that have mostly corroded away and are past due for some attention.. Not sure what to do about the holes yet, so open to suggestions on that as well... thanks

Here is a follow up on what I need to repair. I have ignored the problem but its not getting better so I hope to tackle it this year, time permitting. My fishing is exclusively salt water .

I want to make a quick fix that can be done with temps in the 60's before its time to enjoy the boat as my schedule is way too busy.. At the very least I would like to arrest the problem so it does not worsen and maybe make it pretty later.. Perhaps a sandable top coating that can handle a recoat a year later?
I have seen plenty of write ups on the cleaning and painting here, but not sure about the patching process, specifically the small holes that are left from the stupid stainless snaps that have/are rotting away and causing problems. Have found some good ideas regarding insulating the stainless connectors from the aluminum using shrink tube, nylon washers, and perhaps some sort of goop.

Options I am considering for patch work include:
g-flex west marine... 2 part epoxy or similar
Paint: sand/clean/neutralize. etching primer
rustoleum topside oyster white rustoleum marine primer....(readily available)
or
interlux brightside hatteras off-white y4208 (seems to have been replaced
with a different product but this color looks like a nice match)

My understanding is that under acceptable conditions I will be waiting at least 24 hours between coatings and perhaps longer.. All my work will be outside in the Seattle area and under some trees... so extra work to make some sort of removable work cover.. and plan for rain in between steps...

Your situation is definitely not ideal for painting. Look for an automotive supplier near you, maybe ask a local bodyshop who they use. Bring the boat to the supplier and ask them to use a color matching camera to match the paint. That should get pretty close. Ask for 2k single stage paint. For a little spot in, some sealer primer should be fine. Acid etch primer was replaced by direct to metal primer due to EPA regulations. You should be able to get everything in spray cans. Sealer can be painted over as soon as it flashes, but you'll have to do every spot at once because both the primer and paint have hardeners. As with any paint you'll have a range of prices. Pick whatever fits your budget, but try to stay with one brand throughout to ensure compatibility.
