I have a 2003 75hp Ficht that runs for 15min, dies, then will crank but won't fire. I'm running it at the dock, 1500-2k rpm, cowling off. The electric pump/vst was new 4 months before problem started Pump is now about a year old.
Pumping Primer does not help and is firm. I checked all the basics (I Think) no codes, no water in fuel, good compression, spark, injecter fire, good fuel pressure 25-30, holds at 15-20 after key is off. What I narrowed it down to is vapor in the rails. If I remove a main line off the vst pump, I here mostly vapor. Put it back and it will run for another 10-15. I'm thinking the float is stuck up on the vst tank. I can't blow back thru the nipple but I'm also not sure how much fuel in there. I'm going to take the vst apart to check but it's not servicable as far a parts are concerned. I'm wondering if this was a common problem or just something someone else saw before? Any opinions and help will be appreciated. Thanks
