I have a 1996 Mercury outboard on my bass boat. I some time have a problum starting in in the morning, but I am thinking that it is just cold. But after I do get it started and I am running the sound of the engine gets very loud. It almost sounds like something from nasscar, if I throutle down at a point the loud sound goes away. Any help would be good.

Give us some more details like identify the sound, location, rpm's where it comes and goes, how long have you been running when you hear it, how you start your engine in the morning, do you know your VRO is working....have to add oil to the tank, do you know that the correct number of cylinders working....you know that this engine drops 2 cylinders at the lower rpm's?
