I occasionally don't have reverse and now neutral either. It slips in and out. It used to happen very rarely and would only affect reverse. Put the throttle back and boat would go forward. After just waiting in neutral for a minute, I could hear slip back in and all was fine. Last time I went out, the boat was idling in neutral as I was pulling up the anchor and it just slipped into gear. The throttle was straight up but we were moving.
Is this motor shot? I really don't want to put a whole lot of money into it. Can I do more damage by running it? Looking for any ideas or suggestions. Thanks
