Odd, i know. So, here it goes. I picked up another boat over the weekend as a project boat. The thing is solid, and really only needs a little work and a new motor. Anyway, here is where my issue is. The boat is a Sea Ray SRV 190. No doubt about that, as it is engraved in the helm. The title says that its a 1985 Sea Ray 190. I started looking online to find some information and some manuals for this boat to help with my restore. However, as it turned out Sea Ray didn't make the SRV 190 in 1985. So, I decided to run the HIN to see if the year was wrong on the title. Now, keep in mind that the HIN on the transom and the HIN on the title are the same, so it is the right title. When I ran the number, it came up a 2008 Homemade boat. Ahh, yes, the thirlls of titling and registering boats. Theres always problems!! So, how do I find out what year this boat is? It had a Ford 302 in it, and the outdrive is a mercruiser. I am guessing its an old 888, but I can't be sure because it isn't labled anywhere that I can see. Also, it is a closed bow model. Hopefully someone has a good idea on how to find out what I really have. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
