I have never owned a boat b/4 in my life but it was time. I got this 1991 Bayliner Capri BR ( do not know what model) for really cheap. The owner stated that it ran but needed a $100 "switch repair". He said a mechanic said it was something in the wiring between the key and motor. Is this something I could repair myself? I have also posted some photos if someone could tell me what model it is. I am planning to replace the flooring because it is rotten so look forward to getting alot of help from you guys. Thanks.

something in the wiring between the key and motor.

...hiya hurricane.

well that about narrows it down :) here is a list of ignition switches to select from. should be a good DIY project. what i did when i first got my BL was pick up good service manual, like a clymers will do. then start with the basics as if you knew nothing had been done to the O/B. impeller, plugs, fuel filter, diaphram, lu oil, comp test, etc.. the low hanging fruit sort of stuff. then once you know the O/B is operational, get to the meat of the hull. that information is all covered in Boat Restoration section. spend some time reading the refurb posts in there. i'd say your boat has a nice look and worth the effort if the hull is not crooked or the O/B shot to h3ll,

have fun
