Help to read Model number

I am looking at a couple of old Yamaha 4 stroke 9.9Hp outboards to fix up as a bit of a project but I cant seem to decode the model and serial numbers. I would like to know what year they are so I can find out the availability of parts.
The numbers the owner has given me are 6G8 9.9AE 762086,761521,408000.
If anyone can help me decode these would be much appreciated. I have looked at the Yamaha code chart but cant make any sense of it.

The problem is, none of those has anything to do with model or year. I don't know about down under and if you have European model or not, but here in the states the model number starts with F9.9

Update:
Just got photos of the plates from the owner and they read:
Top line: YAMAHA F9.9AE
Second Line 6G8 UL 762086

Hope this makes more sense.
