I am restoring a Johnson TN-28. I have figured out just about everything except the carb linkage coming from the butterfly. I am almost positive I have all the pieces. I need a picture or description in order to proceed. Can anyone provide assistance?

Thank you, I used that site to rebuild the carb, but it does not cover that linkage. A picture would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much,

Re: Help! TN-28 Carb Linkage

My concern is the cam and spring that fit on the top end of the butterfly operating rod. I know the one end of the spring connects to the little post on the powerhead but can't seem to figure out how it connects to the cam and the cams correct fit on the end of the rod. Does the rod come straight up or is it at an angle? I am baffled!

Thanks for your help,
Paul in Michigan

Re: Help! TN-28 Carb Linkage

It is kind of a hard spot to take a pic of, but I dug out a parts motor without the lower shroud, Ill try my best.

The rod is vertical for the first few inches, then it darts at an angle. The springs other end connects to the rod itself, there should be a hole in the rod halfway down the rod.

Chris,

Thanks so much, how does the cam connect and is it mounted in someway to the powerhead?

Chris,

I figured it out! In actuality, I believe a moronic monkey might have seen through the puzzle. Thanks for your help,
