Recently bought a beautiful '04 Regal 2200 with the Fastrac (stepped) hull. I have concerns about the trailer set-up and am looking for advice. I'll describe the hull contact from transom forward. There are two large, solid bunks right and left that make contact with the hull from the transom forward for about 2-3 feet, then there is a gap of no support until the step(red arrows), where there is less than a foot of contact, then no more contact until the winch roller. There is one set of keel rollers that don't make any contact and there are no other bunks. I'm very concerned that there is too much load at the step area.
To get an idea of what others are doing, I've looked at other 2200s that were for sale online and many of them hava a couple of small keel bunks forward of the step. Makes me want to scrap the keel rollers which are obviously not going to help on this boat and replace with a higher set of rollers and/or forward keel bunks to take the load off the step. This is my first boat and any assistance would be appreciated.
