I'm in the market for a boat, looking for a 20-23ft Center Console to be used as a recreational boat, but will also occasionally like to do some off-shore fishing. My budget is in between $10,000-$15,000; thus I will be looking at a used boat. From other posts that I have seen it seems my best option will be to look at an older model boat and repowering. Any advice on what Brands/Model I should be looking at for my needs and price range? Any advice will be much appreciated.

there are a ba-zillion brands of center consoles.

In older boats, you will run into some issues. Re-powering anything will easily take you out of your budget range. So, your best bet is to get something that both boat and motor have good life left to them. Outboards can and do last a long time.

For $10-$15k you shouldn't need to buy anything that needs re-powering (depending on where you are). That's a good budget for a used boat this time of year. You might have a repair or three depending on the condition of the boat, but for the most part they should be water ready at that price.

Condition is key on a used boat: test rides, a mechanic to check it over, etc. are all in order.

Welcome aboard.
