I've just gone through this. The absolute best deal was through PerProTech and their customer service (ask for Casey or Rick) was beyond exceptional. You will need the head and a bunch of gaskets and you'd be wise to replace the head bolts too. I just had to re-replace the rocker cover gasket again because the OEM cork one failed - booo! I'd recommend the FelPro OEM synthetic gasket - went in perfect tonight. If you're doing it yourself you'll also want some gasket sealant and glue (separate products) to make sure the darn thing doesn't move when you put it down (note this is for the Rocker cover, not head gasket). Also, note this head is completely built (no need to replace the valves, springs etc - big time saving!

Here's the link to the part: 3.0L NEW Cylinder Head 1992 & Up (#10140599A) - Performance Product Technologies
$540 - best deal by far and less than half the merc OEM price, for the same GM head.

Good luck and take lots of pictures as you disassemble the engine.
Mike

PS - just be sure you check and confirm the casting number matches your engine.
