Help on a 73 Sea Ray

Hello,

I just purchased a 73 228 Mercruiser. I took it out and it did great for the first ten minutes. Now when I put it in drive it will only due about 10 mph. any more throttle and it just revs up. It seems to be fine for reverse and idles fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... Change the prop, as it sounds like the prop hub is stripped,.....

Was any service work done prior to the water test?

Yes, we changed the impeller.
