"Help Lower Unit"

Trying to get the lower unit off my 1998 25hp evinrude. I got the five bolts on the lower off, but the lower unit only comes down about an inch and stops. Im in the process of doing this right now. Please help! Thanks in advance!

did you disconnect the shift rod?

No i didnt disconnect the shiftrod. Can you tell me how?

Ok, dissconnected the shift rod, now the lower comes almost all the way down but it seems to be hung up on something in the top.
