Re: Help...Just bought boat, trailer broke, boat on I-20, and temp to get to 30 degre
Sorry to keep everyone in suspense. After missing 2 days of work, the fit hit the shan (work) so I've been too busy getting caught up to play on iboats. I did go back and drain the block and manifolds Monday night for peace of mind (although I really think it would have been OK at 32 degrees). The boat was fine yesterday morning, although I did worry about it all night. i could not remove the studs with a punch and 3 pound hammer! No one in town had a complete hub. I finally found a machine shop to press out the old studs. I then caught hell trying to find new studs, but finally found some that are a bit too long but do the trick. Long story short, boat is home and it only costs me about 75 bucks and a few busted knuckles(picked up new studs and lug nuts for the other side as well). Thanks to all for the advice and concerns. The wife did not like the idea of 2 boats in the yard and her comment when I arrived home Monday night without the boat was exactly what I expected, "I believe you left your bed beside the road".
