HELP!! Johnson 35hp 1978

Hi i have a johnson 35hp 1978 seahorse CD It seems to have a problem with the magneto or electrical system that controls spark and timing, i also have a 1992 evinrude 25hp i was wondering if i could swap over the magneto and electrical system over from the rude to johnson?

I sort of doubt it, but don't know for sure. But why would you do that anyway? Then you have a 1992 that is no good.

my 1992 is no good anyway powerhead requires to much work and requires starter motor bracket which costs more than the engine is worth this Johnson is in better condition.

What my problem is.

Running engine at just above idle with flushmuffs on the engine will warm and electrical components warm the engine then just cuts and runs cuts and run, deffo isnt a fuel problem i have cleaned carb, lines, de-carbed pistons.

I replaced a (Damaged) coil on the top cylinder with one off the 1992 rude and it ran run for 3 mins shut engine down started again and it runs then it seems all the electrical ignition cuts out for a microsecond every other 5-10 seconds engine will CUT out totally at ilde speed.
