I have an older Sears and Roebuck 3.5 hp outboard, trying to figure out what year. Searched the web but ..... There's an egg shaped sticker with SR on the back of the cover and Sears on the side of the cover. I read enough to find out to put it in reverse you turn the motor around, interesting. There's a metal tag under the carb with two numbers, T-634-1D and 5100573. I've run both numbers and, well, still looking. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

I have a 3.5 from the mid 60's that also has that SR sticker on. That may help narrow it down. Made by Eska, powerhead is Tecumseh.

Good morning and thank you. I'll do some more searching.
Here is the ID on mine T 634 10 5154021 or 515404 It is an air-cooled 3.5 hp The T634 is the ID of the tecumseh power head. There is a little "duck bill" rubber piece in the carb that is the fuel pump. They almost always need to be replaced if the motor hasn't been run in years.duck bill001.jpg

can you post a pic. You dont see a metal tag on the transom bracket with model and serial number? In 74,75,76 the 3.5hp was made in Canada. The model number should start with 217-

Good morning and thank you both. It's got good compression, I'll get a carb kit and see what happens. Thanks again.

Good morning, I finally got back to the Sears 3.5hp Eska. Put in a new plug, cleaned the tank (steel) put on new gas lines. Tried to fire on the 3rd pull, 4th pull almost started, started up on the 5th pull, amazing. Thanks for the help
