I bought this boat and its title says it is a 14ft 1970 starcraft. the problem is I looked at the brochures and pics and mine doesn't look exactly like the others. Sadly it has no id tag. It looks like a Falcon, but my mine wind sheild is one piece curved glass and all the other ones are curved, but with triangle pieces on the side. Help

SNG--

look at the measurements listed in the brochures, then get a tape measure to your hull and compare em. for example, the 14' Sea Scamp is much narrower and shallower hull than the 14' fisherman of same year.

Part B of the plan is to get some pics of the boat and the ID plate and get em up on here. the experts (of whom i ain't one) should quickly be able to help you get a positive ID. the good news is that they all work roughly the same, restore exactly the same, and are repaired exactly the same. Starcraft was a master of "parts bin engineering"....the same hull often became different boats, as with the 18' holiday, SS, and starchief

and welcome to the padded tin room ;)

Need pics for a positive ID.

Like Barato said, transom depth and width are key to deciphering this mystery.

I'll go you one better than the padded room reference;

Come for the boats, stay for the people. Stick around here I think you'll like it. Oh yea, welcome new guy.

SNG--

i have a brochure from mid-60s which lists 5 different 14' tinnies, varying in hp rating from 20 to 45. go take measurements on your boat for:
1. center length
2. gunwale length
3. beam
4. bow depth
5. center depth
6. transom width
7. transom height

if you can get those measurements, we can give you a pretty good idea which boat you have. and pictures help....
