I inherited a box full what looks to me like rollers or guides for a boat. Maybe they are meant to be mounted on a boat dock somehow? Or maybe they're for a boat trailer? Can someone tell me what these are? Each one has u-bolts that appear to be for attaching to "something".

looks like pontoon trailer guides for either a scissor trailer or a boat lift

I also thought they are trailer guides but the vertical arms are so short and without the foam pad on that arm, it looks like could cause damage to the hull if the boat doesn't approach just right.

Those are standard trailer rollers. They usually support the keel or a strake. The u-bolts attach them to the trailer frame.

Not sure what the side rollers are for, but look to be custom for a particular hull.

Definitely keel rollers from a trailer. Not too common in the US, as far as I can gather…but very common here in Europe.

I had to laugh. In The USA that used to be the ONLY way trailers were built. Then we'all got lazy and didn't maintain our equipment so the manufacturers stapled some carpet on a twobafore and called it a day.

Personally, I have never owned a trailer without them, and never will.

Agree Jim. Personally I find that a trailer with keel rollers and bunks, are the best. Solid support from the rollers taking the weight through the strongest part of the hull…and a little weight on the bunks enough just to have a little friction grip when on the slipway. Guys over here think full rollers all round are best. I don’t agree personally.
Apologies if I generalised a little there. Just that most boats that came over here for years came with their us supplied trailer when imported. Almost exclusively, they were all side bunk things. People got away with using these over here for years…but the US trailers have been illegal here for ages now. For a few reasons.
