Help identify a boat

I recently purchased a boat Marked Avalon 153. Other than a serial number, I find no other markings on it. I can't find anything at all about it on line, although I have seen a couple listed for sale in the past. It has a 50 Merc on it, but that's not the original motor. I would like to know passenger/load rating as well as HP rating, and of course who made and where.

You should at least be able to get the manufacturer's name on the Coast Guard's website.

Hover over Recalls and Safety Defects and select Manufacturers Identification. The first three characters of your boat's HIN will give you the manufacturer's name. Good Luck on your research and welcome to Iboats.

I still have had no luck with further identification, other than finding out that Model 153 means 15 ft, 3 inches.
I still need help.
