help ID motor kiekhaefer

Please help me ID the motor. I got it for $40 and the guy new nothing about it. The SN# is 1204338 model mark 28A its a 2 cylinder 2 stroke.

According to the numbers you provided you have a later 50's Mark 28a (as you already identified). Yours does not appear to have the original engine cover, decals, or color. Either that or what ever the sn and model are on was transplanted to a new motor somehow???
