I got a houseboat on a trade that was too good to pass up.
The engine is a 1969 mercuiser 1250 125hp 6 cyl
The motor is supposed to run but has not been started in years.
So the problem comes when i do not know outboard motors or boats well in general.
I see a gas tank ,but nothing is connected to it. Nothing.
I look under the deck and i see this thing in the pictures , It seems to have several lines that run out of it but also do not connect to anything. Is this a fuel pump or trim pump ?
Forgive my ignorance , I gotta start somewhere . The motor is so old that no boat place in town will touch it. does anyone know how this stuff is supposed to connect and where i would find it?

welcome to the forum. Some recent upgrade issues have made the picture attachment go wonky. If you have a photo bucket account use the img code like htere to post a pic here.

If there is a reservoir with an electric motor on top and 4 hoses it is for the hydraulic system.--------------------Get a new hose to go from tank to motor for fuel.

Also, when you get the fuel tank hooked up you will have to mix the fuel with outboard oil at a 50:1 fuel to oil ratio.
