I used "StarBrite" hull cleaner, as ours is very filthy, and it didn't remove anything. I am desperate to get it clean, and honestly don't know when the last time it was, as it was like this when we bought it. My husband has to do some figerglass repairing on it and needs to be a clean surface. We just noticed when you open the compartment that holds ski's you can see light shining right through the bottom of the boat....Not good at all, so we want to get it fixed ASAP before going in water.

If anyone has a remedy of some sort they use, that is safe on fiberglass boats, please let me know..Thanks ;)

If you have light shining thru the bottom of the boat, you have a bigger problem than a dirty hull.

Do the fiberglass repair properly and then paint the hull with awl-grip (or similar). If he has to layer on biax cloth and resins, he's going to have to spray gel coat or paint on over it anyway. Just hoses off after that.

Seeing light through fiberglass is not anything to worry about. It just means the paint/gelcoat has worn thin in that area. FRP with no paint or gelcoat is translucent.

As for cleaning the hull, some have had luck with Marykate On Off.

Re: HELP!! Hull will not clean!!

pics are very helpful of the hull outer and inner.you could glass fibre from the inside of the boatwhere u see the hole and use a glass fibre filler on the outside.obviously white is as a base is the most popular but if u contact a fibre specialist you can add pigment 4 any colour required.unless the boat was holed on its last removal from the water you could have osmosis setting in the glassfibre which makes the hull soft and dangerous to trust.try doing some prodding too so you can c what your dealing with.

Thanks for everyones post. I know fixing the problem is more important, but I know he needs a clean surface to begin with. I know he bought..."Fiberglass Resin Repair Kit" from a company called "Bondo" and a sanding block along with some sand paper. I will try to post pic's tomorrow, so you can see what I mean about seeing light through that compartment. Thanks everyone :)

You don't need to clean the stains off the hull because you will need to grind the surface very well before doing any repairs. This will get you below any stains on the surface.
