Hello all! I am in search of my dads old "Miss Budweiser" canoe. This canoe was the pride and joy of the Little Sioux River in Northwest Iowa for decades! Most of my childhood memories involve hunting, fishing, camping, and long weekends in the Budweiser label clad canoe. My father purchased this canoe in the early 80's in a small town in Iowa, I believe from an elderly woman that ordered it direct from a catalog, and it was in great shape. It had two built-in coolers,(always stocked with Budweiser) one in front and one in back. Over time and hundreds of canoe trips the side rails along the seats started to crack and eventually split. The duct tape rapairs only held on for so long, and forced us to try a fiberglass repair kit. After the 'shade tree' repair, she was run down the Little Sioux for the last time. Broken, and leaking. Miss Bud layed to rest in mom and dads back yard for a couple years, until finally local canoers wondered where she went. Dad was approached by a paddler and offered a few hundred bucks to take it off his hands. At the time (late 90's) he thought nothing of it and sent it on its way. I was in college at the time, so my love and opinion on Miss Budweiser was unheard. She was rumored to be hanging in a bar for awhile, then i heard she sold again and again. This canoe means alot to my brothers and I, AND WE WANT HER BACK! I did a search on the web and came to this site. there was a post from 2005 that descibed Miss Bud. This post involved a few pointers on how to repair the canoe, which had pics, but i was unable to pull them up. I have seen a few other Bud canoes here and there, and will eventually settle for a look alike if need be. But how cool would it be to re-unite Miss Budweiser with Dad? PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS POST IF YOU HAVE INFO!!!!
