Ok, I'm starting my gutting process. Got the motor and rubrail off(man that was a lot of rivets). Cut some of the obvious tabbing between deck and hull. I don't think they ever intended this cap to come off. Has anybody done this on a 91 bass cat panteraII, that has pics or could give me a few pointers?

Re: help getting cap off

My old glasser project used some sort of adhesive between the cap and hull.... It was very difficult getting them separated after removing rivets. Post some pics so we can see...

It's a bass boat:

So the rubrail & cap/hull joint isn't the only thing holding the 2 halves together.

Could be foam filled between the upper & lower half like a whaler:

Read thru GT1M's bass boat build. Lots of great boat building tips going on in there:

WOW that would be tuff if it has foam gluing it all together like in the picture. I'm sure there are others that have had this problem and can instruct you how to handle it. I would go around looking for areas that don't seem to be separated and work from there. but I haven't accomplish that problem myself yet...

Re: help getting cap off

The bass boat jbcurt00 posted is exactly what I have except color. The floor is completely rotted and gone. I can kinda stand on my head and look up under the deck, there is no foam above stringers. I will try to get pics when weather decides what it wants to do. I'm in upper southwest louisiana, I was outside in a t-shirt yesterday and it is in low 20's today. :snowman:

The compartments (storage, live wells, built in coolers, etc) can have foam or resin holding them down, not exactly like the pix I posted of a whaler, but similarly filled areas, just not the entire hull.
