Help for installing new oil in lower unit

Can someone give me advice as to which screw in the lower unit I add oil to?
I have a 40 Johnson.

You should have two screws one in the bottom, front of the lower unit which is the fill and one just above the cavition plate. Take both screws out and with the motor trimmed down squezze the gear oil into the lower unit until it comes out of the vent whole, reinstall vent screw remove oil bottle and quickly install the bottom screw. I know this doesn't sound right but by filling from the bottom it ensures that you dont have any big air pockets. Hope this helps?

They are SLOTTED SCREWS, do not remove the PHILLIPS SCREW!

Have extra oil and something to contain the mess, you will make a mess ... ;)

That should be engraved in capitol letters on every motor! --

DO NOT REMOVE THE PHILLIPS SCREW!! :)
