help 59 johnson 50hp

had mty boat out on water the screw fall off the tower shaft arm put screw on but when i put it in forward gear makes a wierd noise and dies out need to know if it is possible the timing is some how off

Get someone who is better with the outboard terms to explain your problem in understandable words, ciscowine. As it is, it is meaningless.
