3.0 MPI, replaced fuel line from pump to rail due to rupture. New line failed after 15 hours of operation. Cannot find any reason this could be occurring.

You either have low quality fuel lines, too much pressure, or it is bent sharply causing strain

Or outdated rubber hose being used in the assembly of the part.

What is your fuel pressure?

Part number is below. First one was OEM, second is a Mercury Marine part.

I don't know fuel pressure, but the lines are rated at 250+ and the boat ran perfect the whole time. I'm thinking to have enough pressure to cause multiple line failures would show up as performance issues.

I have a picture I will post from before I removed the 2nd failed line and no kinks are evident.

I would contact Merc Tech support 920-929-5040
If you don't get a good answer look into USCG recalls

Called them, need to call back with serial they said they will check for service bulletins.

I'm thinking I should check the fuel pressure to be safe. This is the port on the bottom of the fuel rail, right? Anyone know what kind of fitting it is?

A fuel pump will not put out more then 100 psi max IF that. It happens at the same place e so what is there that can cut/rub that area?

Steering maybe

I'm not finding anything. In the picture before the removal of the 2nd failure there is nothing even nearby.

The first failure looks like it split due to being bent and stressed, but I didnt see that. The second failure looks like the line was overpressured, but I concur with 100 psi being insufficient to do that.

I have the new line on but I'm nervous and wish I could get a diagnosis and be confident there won't be another failure.

Merc gets their hoses off-shore. I would go to a hydraulic hose shop and get custom hoses made
