2005 Regal 2250 (22.2 feet)
5.0 MPI ALPHA 1 Gen 2
Boat weight I belive is around 3700lb with 54gal fuel cap.
Eng Ser. 0W326550
Typically riding with 3 or 4 adults and 75 percent fuel.
This is a new to me boat and it has been a nightmare. First ride, noticed she would bog out if you accelerated too quickly. And then I lost the ECM, she would not start the fuel pump to fire engine. Fast forward all summer sat on the trailer I finally bought a "new Ecm" from Texas, it appears to be new but a reflash. They told me it's part number or Calibration is 866189T06 which is what my boat is supposed to have superceded to from 865926 ecm (Allthough that number is not located on the ecm itsself) So I install a new ecm, and we also determine the map sensor was gone. Sea trial, no more bogging at all, but now I hit the throttle and she was running all most 5800rpm at 46 to 48 MPH. So I immediately backed her off and for the rest of the run I cruised at about 4000RpM and 23 to 25 MPH. I'm running out of patience and money can someone please offer any advice. This boat is sinking me. The ECM was 3400 Canadian, and 700 for diagnostic and map sensor plus sea water pres. Sensor. The prop on the boat is a Vensura 19P stainless 4 blade RH. And my location is east coast Canada used in Atlantic Ocean coastal waters. I am wondering about 1, verifying the calibration on the ecm to ensure I got what I was sold, and 2, switching the prop out to a quicksilver nemesis 4 blade 23P. ..
Also when I took is home to rinse the engine on the muffs when I initially tried to start it the fuel pump wouldn't come on, I nearly had a stroke, I flicked the relay and it came on. Maybe sticky. Who knows.
