My rad cap is leaking a tiny bit and want to replace. What is appropriate for a ford 302 closed cooling system. 14psi?

14 ought to be fine. Is there by chance a psi rating stamped into the current one?

Originally it was 14 and I've changed it before to a 15 as that's all I.could find at the time. I got a 13 this time as they had no 14 in stock. Will it do

It will be fine. They range from 7 to 18 psi depending on year, etc

Hopefully you are right in thinking that you just need what you’ve described…but the pessimism and experience in me around closed cooling systems, might suggest that a leaking cooling tank cap might be leaking 9 out of 10 times…as a result of it just doing it’s designed function…as in relief of pressure caused by something else untoward

I had boat out today. And the temp was good all day and the cap didn't leak. System ran as it should
