This is what we get when leaving a convenience store, a boating supply store, a grocery store, etc.
Got it this afternoon when leaving a Menards store with a gallon of satin white to be applied to the garage door and framing.
Now I find this a bit innocuous, don't you? "Have a nice day" when I'm walking out with a can of paint. What kind of a day am I expected to have when I'm leaving with a can of paint?
Yeah, I appreciate the good wishes, but if she really meant it, wouldn't she be over at my place helping me?
I have heard that salutation many times when leaving a store - often given by a young, nubile woman, or sometimes by an older, mature and beautiful grandma. In each case I think, "Oh how I'd like to have a beautiful rest-of-the-day - with you!".
But, as you might suspect, I always go home alone, with my can of paint - say hello to the dog, think of what might have been.
Sometimes life seems unfair, hey? Oh well; at least the garage door looks good.
