Someone mentioned Fasco products in another thread so I took a look at their catalog and saw this.

Sounds interesting especially since lot of guys have to rebuild their transoms due to water intrusion and rot. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with their rot epoxy.

same category of CPES, git-rot and other snake oils.

no way to magically un rot wood and get the strength back.

in truth, it simply makes the restoration harder because you now have to remove this puddle of epoxy and mulch

Lists right in the description on the Fasco site: flexible

You dont want a flexible transom

Might work in an application where you're trying to fill a hole with some rot around it though, right? My transom had a pitot hole that rotted around the screw. I drilled larger hole from the outside, scraped out the edges and filled with poly resin last year. Drilled/pulled the resin plug out after noticing discoloration around the hole this season. Doesn't seem to be wet in there, but now contemplating how to fill the hole. Seems like this would be as good as any epoxy, though I don't need a quart of it...

I will attest to my use.
(Not used the Rot version you listed) But..
The regular Epo Steel Lvx 103 product works very well for me.
So far as flexible. Not sure flexible is the best description.
Many epoxies shatter or break with high impact or by bending.
This Product is Very Tough with my basement tests.. not a high tech Lab.
But as I have said before, I test all my epoxies and resins with and without additives, chopped strands, milled fibers, cabisil, fumed silica. etc.
To clarify, I have made test discs. I couldn't bend or break without putting in a vise or 2 sets of pliers.
The disc is poured in a upside down soda pop can. Then "abused" (Real Technical description)Lol.
I also test leftovers in thinner applications.
This is also as I stated in other thread,.
My Top Shelf choice, followed by total boat. Just my opinion.
I like the long working time.
Many people like West System and others as well. I have not used these.
But I do have different tiers or uses for the brands I purchase. they are different prices as well.
I built my transom with Fasco and it is Rock Solid. And will be holding 300 Hp.
0 concern with the flexible listing. as I have used this product a good bit. And Trust it.

I only use cpes penetrating epoxy to seal and protect.
**The ONLY way in My Opinion,,. to deal with Rot is Remove and Replace it.**
Just my .02 cents.
