First off look at the rear of your lower unit from the rear and just below the flat plate that is horizontal just above the prop is a tab sticking down. This is the trim tab and the purpose is to adjust your engine thrust so that you have effortless steering both ways. There is a bolt on top of where it mounts and that is how you adjust it....loosen the bolt, turn it where you think it ought to be and tighten her back up. It has limited range, like +/- 15 degrees so don't expect a lot.
Since your boat is hard to steer to the right it says that you are pushing into your tab (if maladjustment of the tab is the problem). What you want is the tab to do some of the steering for you. So, if you want to steer easier to the right, you want the rear of the lower unit to move to the right.
To move the rear of the lower unit to the right, you move the REAR OF THE TAB TO THE LEFT. This forces water against the lower unit from the left side pushing it to the right and easing your steering.
Proper positioning (trial and error) is when you can take your hand off the wheel at your desired trim/speed and the boat stays where you left it. Doing this it should steer the same in both directions.
Otherwise you have something binding or other problem. Pick the low hanging fruit first!
