Hello , I just purchased a 1991 Bayliner 2655 ceirra sunbridge , my wife is handicapped , I want to install a handicap crane to move her from dock to boat and boat to dock . I have the crane , it has a 9 inch square base with 1/2 inch thick steel base , capable of lifting 3000 pounds . she weighs 200 pounds . it sounds like overkill , what happens , as the lifting arm is extended to full length , the lifting capacity drops down to 350 pounds . I was looking at the starboard side just behind the bulkhead or on the swim step next to the bulkhead . Is the boat strong enough to support a handicap crane ?. any ideas on how to fasten the crane to the boat ? under neath supports ? side supports ? we are in our senior years and would like to do boating together . thank you for any replies .
