I have a 50 HP 1993 Mariner Outboard. Here is the scenario; I took it out the other day for the first time of the year. It ran fine from the get go, got on plane without a problem, ran it wide open and it ran like a dream. Lots of chop on the water so when I hit a few big waves and decided to back off the throttle. When I tried to run wide open again I couldn't and haven't been able to regain full power. I am unable to get on plane and it feels as if I'm running at half power. I am new to the boating world and have limited working knowledge of boats. Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially because I am heading out of town in two days for a week long fishing trip. Thanks for any and all help.
