Has anyone ever worn out a boat while trying to restore it. My word! I have climbed in and out of that boat so many times I think I'm gonna have to restore the gunwales before I'm through.

I have had practically every tool in the crib scattered throughout the boat and side yard for months now. Seems that I spend more time getting them out, triping over them, putting them away and then getting them out again, than I spend working on the boat. None-the-less, progress is being made.

Below, are the new seat mounting blocks that have been letted into the outboard stringers, custom fitted and glued (w/peanut butter epoxy) to the hull. One of the reasons that this project was necessary was due to water getting below the floor thru the enlarged seat mounting screw holes in the unsupported half inch plywood floorboard. Never again. Now the lag bolts have CPES treated 2 by's to bite into.

Additionaly, I am reinforcing the motor mount stringers with added CPES treated doug fir. The four and a half inch area between the outboard stringer and the main motor mount 3 by's had been filled with foam and capped with a one and a quarter inch top cap. Now that area will be solid epoxy treated wood. Now when my son tells me to go bouncing over the tops of the Columbia River waves, I won't be afraid of the new 331 cid engine ending up in the drink.

Next step will be the floor and foam. i'll post as I progress.
