It's all about timing.....I've been thru all the airports mentioned and many more. Have yet to have any real issues. Then again, I make all my own flight arrangements, fly off peak hours/ days, make liberal use of alternative airports and don't book flights with connections if I can help it.
I fly into LA 2-3 times a years via Ontario. Have not been to LAX in maybe 15 years. I commuted to La Jolla from Baltimore for 16 months. Never an issue getting in or out of SAN. Came in Sunday evening and took the red eye back to B-more Friday evening. Use Midway instead of O'Hare. Never had an issue with Hong Kong, Narita or Kensail. Usually Sunday evening arrivals or quick in and out on the way to and from other countries.
Most hated airports....Frankfort, followed by Heathrow and Sao Paulo. Worst luck airport....Syracuse. Did a job in Kingston, Ontario. 3 cancellations requiring an overnight stay in 5 attempts. One cancellation where they where able to get me on a later flight to Washington Reagan. Only problem, my car was in Baltimore...
