Guage replacements

What do I need to know before ordering replacement guages for my 2004 20 foot hurricane deckboat with a 150 hp Yamaha outboard? 2 guages have fallen back behind the dash and the 3 I have are in rough shape. Fuel, tach and speedometer seem to function currently.

Mostly the diameter of the gauges. Measure the holes and then find gauges that fit. These are most common

• 2-1/16" - Standard Size Guages. Water Temp, Volts, Oil Pressure, etc...
• 2-5/8" - Monster Size Guages. Water Temp, Volts, Oil Pressure, etc...
• 3-3/8" - Standard Size Tachometer or Speedometer.
• 4-5/8" - Monster Size Tachometer or Speedometer.

for a gauge to fall thru the dash, the dash would have had to break. gauges are inserted in from the front and removed from the front. check the dash itself to see what failed, not just the fake wood applique

You'll need to repair your dash bezel or replace it to fill some of those empty holes. I can see that the bezel around the gauges has cracked/broken and fallen in.

Those look like Faria gauges. Take a picture of the wiring connections on the back.

I've attached some pictures of the work I had to do to repair my bezel. I had to use some fiberglass and bondo to get it right. If you don't want to do this, I've heard of people using a place in Cape Coral, FL which may have the templates for your dash. They use their CNC to cut a new dash bezel out of Lexan.

When I said "take a picture of the wiring connectors," that was just for your own reference for when you swap out the gauges. Also, only change one gauge at a time if possible. That'll make your life a lot easier.
