Grounding question

I'm fixing the cluster #$&@ of wiring in my aluminum fishing boat. Currently all the lighting and accessory type stuff is grounded to the boat itsself whereas the main engine harness and trolling motor are grounded directly to the battery.

What's right and wrong for this? Should I run all the grounds to a bus bar and ground that to the battery or to the boat or is it okay with things grounded right to the boat hull?

Re: Grounding question

Don't use the hull for grounding electrical devices. Install a busbar.

Re: Grounding question

That's pretty much what I was thinking, I'm guessing it's been that way for years so obviously it's not the worlds most deadly combo but I was surprised at how many things were directly grounded to the hull.
