Saw a commercial for this new reality series yesterday ( coming soon ). I look forward to seeing how you guys do it on the big waters up there!!

If it gets bad like it usaully does, there won't be much of a series.I don't know about the other lakes but Erie can and does get nasty.It's the shallowest of all the lakes.

Have been on all 5 but mainly Erie nothing better than 10 ft waves and 15 ft of spray.

The straights are bad wind and fog in a narrow channel.

Been on all but Superior and Ontario. Seen storms on most of 'em, been in a storm on Huron (which was actually kinda' fun) and Erie (which scared the cheese-whiz outta' me). On the overall ... those lakes are magic. Whitefish Point on Lake Superior is still one of my favorite places on this earth.

... I have doubts if the series can do the lakes real justice.

Have a friend that lives in Paradise, MI. Can stand in his front yard and point to where the Ella Fitz went down. I've spent hundreds of hours on Michigan and Superior chasing Salmon, Steelhead, and lake trout. Can't wait to see this show.

Read a book a long time ago about the Great Lakes and shipping. Apparently because Lake Michigan runs north-south it gets the worst waves of all of the lakes.

I don't know about that. The EF went down in Superior
