I am curious if I can grease my lower unit on my 1988 85HP Force outboard. If I can, how do I grease it.

Grease the prop shaft. While the lowers off you can smear grease around the shift shaft where it meets the seal. And the top of the drive shaft on the grooves.
Other than that there are a couple of grease fittings (that if they haven't popped out yet) you can grease.
I use a spray white lithium on moving parts.
The steering cable, gunk builds up on that and I spray with WD-40 and lithium grease.
The grease in the kingpin area will eventually harden and will need to be worked on.
If you can get grease through both top and bottom seals keep pumping a lot of grease in there as you turn the motor back and forth.J
