My 2000 Starcraft Aurora 2015 has issues with the speedometer and Lowrance 3500 depth finder. I'm thinking that a GPS combo might be better than repairing/replacing both. I won't use it for fishing.I would like to be able to follow a river channel, measure speed, & measure depth with an in hull transducer. A tracking feature would be nice also for following prior routes. I was told that I should be able to find something in the $350 range. I'm asking for recommendations. Thanks in advance.

I'm quite happy with my new Garmin 741XS, it is fast, came pre-loaded with charts (I spent $360 in just the past 2 years on charts for my old plotter, so getting them with the plotter is really nice) and it is very intuitive to use. It is out of your price range, but they make plenty of other combos and I would bet there is one that would suit your needs in your price range. Go play with a few in a store and see what they are like to use.

I thought about how easy it would be to use when in a stressful situation and intuitiveness rose to the top of my list of must-have features... I've since used it to cruise 350+ miles on unfamiliar waters with ease.
