Last winter was the first time I fogged the engine and put it in the basement. I took the tarp off today and the boat was still as clean as when I put it up. I grabbed the motor out of the basement and clamped it on. I had a full tank of gas from last year that I'd put some sea foam in. Well I got it all hooked up and it fired off on the 2rd pull. You might think that's trivial but this is my '72 Chrysler we're talking about here. It ran for a few minutes then quit. I checked the bulb and it was soft and saw that the gas line from the tank had seen better days. I got a new line and inline filter. It ran without stopping this time. The new impeller I put in last fall seems to be working fine too. I need to run through Joe Reeve's idle screw adjustment instructions and then let it be.
I ordered my registration sticker online last October but I never got it. So I guess I better get all that straightened out before I take the boat out. I sent an email via the online form but so far have gotten no response. I'll probably be better off just calling them.
Anyway the point of all this was that I think my winterizing really paid off.
