Today was the day I was motivated to go buy the 12 gauge home defense weapon. I chose the Winchester Sxp Extreme Defender. Bass pro even had 3" 00 buckshot loads. Soon as I heard the model, I had to have it.

If you want to impress your boating buddies get the Navy line launching kit for your 500. Just the thing when the wind is taking you away from the fuel dock. An average range of over 330 feet with the floating head. Distances of 700 feet are claimed for the non-floating long distance head.

Have one of the original Ithaca Mag-10 semi-auto 10GA magnum shotguns....bought it when steel shot became mandatory for waterfowl hunting. They made a law enforcement version of it called the "Roadblocker"..... Ithaca marketing for the Roadblocker to law enforcement agencies declared the Mag-10 "can stop a car in its tracks." Awesome....

Hunting buddy of mine has that same gun. Uses it for geese. Thing is an butt kicker.

With the gas operation it really isn't that bad...is a heavy gun though. I bought it mainly for goose hunting.....it made up the difference when using steel shot....about like a 12GA magnum with lead shot.

"After the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service banned lead shot for waterfowl hunting in 1991, hunters were forced to use steel shot. The Ithaca Mag-10 was a platform that could deliver large steel shot in heavy payloads for goose hunting." ----Wikipedia---- And it did that very well......lol. The pic is of the Roadblocker version with 22 inch barrel.

18 pellets according to Federal ammo.....might try to find a 22 inch barrel for mine just for grins......get ME a nice something....lol.
That is 108 32 cal projectiles from a 10 gauge 3" magnum per six shot cycle, that will do. My 12 gauge 3" magnum is only 56.

Nice.....not to be a smart alec but the 10GA magnum is 3 1/2 inch.....massive! lol
And the 10GA mag slug is 766 grains with 1.75 oz shot charge.....could probably take out an engine block (Roadblocker).

Wilson Combat Ranger should arrive in the morning. Already booked a spot at nearby range, going there right away :D Pretty pricy, but I've wanted it so bad since spring. Going to come with a few bricks of 300 blackout ammo and with scope already installed(probably going to take some time at the range to properly adjust it, but at least I don't have to bother with installing it myself).
