Goodbye to one of the last respectable talk show hosts on TV. 17 years and I just watched the final episode.

You were a decent man who really wanted to help people. Your care and compassion set the bar by which every other talk show is judged. You confronted guests problems with a real desire to help them, not make just another hour show to pay the bills.

You will be dearly missed.

I agree.

I did not watch him however, I feel a bond. Montel has MS and has done alot to help others with the disease. My first wife lost her battle with MS. :(

I wish him well. :)

I don't watch but heard an interview on Fox News with him. It is his last episode but believe they have 6 months worth or shows tapped to follow on and then a years worth of reruns and then into syndication. Don't quote me on it, but it is something like that. For the Montel fans, I guess there is still more.

With his MS, you have to respect the guy as he has done lots of good. He also has done well for himself with his dozen or so other companies. I think he wants to focus more on those than the talk show.

He seemed more like a regular guy most days. Oh well, TV talk shows aren't my thing anyway. Rather watch the science channel.

Put him in the ranks of Jerry Springer..."fluff"...working the stupid too dense to figure out life..."Help me, I'm and idiot"..."nuff" my end..too smart and educated to watch what crybabies "need"..and sitting in front of a tube, spoon feed junk....uuuggghhh..
That said, Montel was a step ahead of the other mass of idiots..look at Oprah...what has she solved?
I know, how to make her a Billionare...by talking...as has solved the worlds problem not one damn bit....

Talk TV, reality TV, sitcoms, they are all wasting your life. Get off your butt and do something.

That's a good point, people will sit in a boat staring at a cork for 3 hours and then turn around and make a comment about watching a 1 hour TV show as "not getting anything done."

Hmm, can't see the forest for the trees, huh?

Re: Goodbye, Montel.

I think I'll get one of those battery-operated TVs so I can take the boat out on Saturday mornings and watch the fishing shows. That way I can state at the bobber AND the TV at the same time. At least I'll be able to WATCH someone catching fish 'cause I've been hitting .000 lately.:;)
