I’m looking for a good service manual for ‘60’s era evinrude (18-25hp range). Normally I’d look for something published by the manufacturer (evinrude) but haven’t seen any of those. What do you think of seloc?

They are useful for some aspects of motor repairs.----But they have mistakes / confusing information.-----Some say that these manuals are suitable for the little house with the 1/4 moon in the door.

what level of servicicng do you intend to diy ?? because a lot of info is available on line via this site as well as AOMCI dedicated to servicing older motors . Basic ealy 50s to late 60s magnetos with some in the 70s are easy to service and plenty of parts around.

basic ignition , timing, carb , gear case servicing is all available on line .

makes bad toilet paper and bad fire starting material

may make a good knee pad if kneeling on gravel

as far as a manual goes, not worth the paper they are printed on.

Good to know, thanks. I’ve gotten great info from the factory service manuals on old cars I’ve owned - assumed the same was true here. Honestly, the main value I get from the manuals are the exploded views which I’ve seen plenty of already in sites like marine engine.com. Will save my $ for boat parts.
