That crack in the head appearing when you moved the boat is worry-some. Sounds like you may have rotten stringers. I would have someone inspect the hull I think they are called marine surveyors they can check the hull from the outside with a mallet and moisture meter to see if there is any rot, make sure you get someone reputable. If you do have bad stringers the boat will need a complete gut to do the repair. So that is your first place to start.

Ayuh,.... I think it's got balsa cored decks too,...

Look for lamination, especially 'round screw holes, 'n whatnots...

I was afraid someone was going to say rotten stringer, anyone know of a reputable surveyor in my area?
