Re: gluvit non poros metal boat

It "creeps and flows" and if applied too thick it will seek the low point. It will seal leaks and small holes but with a few rules. How big are the holes? Why are they there? On a larger hole try to fill the hole with an aluminum rivit then gluvt. If the holes are from wear and/or degrading aluminum consider a patch of aluminum then gluvit.

I tipped my aluminum boat when I applied gluvit to a few spots and seams to assist in the direction of the flow.

BE EXTRA sure to stir the big can first to get the thick stuff off the bottom before you pour and measure it out. I used a disposable foam brush to apply it.

the repair area is pretty big, long actually.think of the line at which water and air meet a sitting boat on the water when it rocks. the back 3 to 4 ' are affected mostly in a band 8to 10" wide along that 4'also in the chine?not sure thats right term but that v shaped chanell above where bottom meets the side ,it has pitting and some 1/4" holes that popped out after i probed area with a sharp tool to dig out powdered aluminum this was caused by electrollysis i believe.id like to use a paintable sealer to cover pitted areas .
