Glastron SX 195 steering wheel

I have a 2003 Glastron SX 195 with the 5.0 Volvo. I have excessive play in the steering wheel at the base of the console. The tilt works but it seems that the cables are tight and everything else is ok. The steering response in a turn is fine, but it seems as the steering column is excessvely loose. Any hints?

Ayuh,.... Maybe the Helm is worn out,... Can't tell from here....
New 1s, with the cable are reasonably inexpensive,...
