Glastron Carlson CVX Stringer Question

Hello all.

I'm in the process of restoring a '79 Glastron Carlson CVX 16 Deluxe and was wondering if anyone out there had pictures (or knows the layout) of a CVX under restoration that would show the layout/location of the stringers.

The boat is 95% solid - there was only one very small soft spot (4") in the floor that was under the rear bench seat - everything else was rock solid (even the transom). When I got the boat, it did have some water in it so, now I'm questioning if I need to pull the entire floor. I'd hate to go to that extent only to find the stringers in good shape. I'd prefer to cut a 'peep' hole in the floor to poke around but don't know exactly the best place to cut.

Thanks, in advance, for any insight.

Re: Glastron Carlson CVX Stringer Question

Well if it makes you feel any better :p 19 out of 20 people here find rotted stringers under a soft floor. For an older Glastron, that % is probably even higher. Sounds like you can use it as is for a season or two but be prepared for a complete refit

Have you tried the classic glastron site?
