glassing in my stringers. How does this look to you guys?

I will probably have the stingers in the boat this week.

Here is how I plan to do it.

Does it look like a good plan or would another layer of another type of cloth be needed?

I just want to be 100% sure. :redface: Once they go in I'm not redoing them! :cool::D

The mat needs to be the first layer on the entire surface you're glassing to, right now you have it only covering the sides of the wood.

The cloth won't really do anything, its not heavy enough to add much strength. A typically laminate over a stringer would be 1 mat and 1 roving, another layer of each can be used if needed (1.5 oz mat, 24 oz roving).
One layer of 1708 could be used over the mat instead of roving if you wanted.

Okay. thanks. I have lots of 1708 left. I'll just save the 6 oz. Hexcel cloth for the deck.

The orignal stringers were glassed in with CSM and woven. This and several other construction features give me the feeling mine was one of Glastron's "economy models." :D
